Tent
A Tent was a type of player House that was discontinued in 1998. Like other Classic Homes at the time, it was obtained as a house deed from an NPC Architect in either blue or green varieties. When placed by a player, it featured a 7x7 footprint and one container, a chest which came with a key to lock it, in the middle of the tent. This chest could be picked by any player with sufficient Lockpicking skill and the contents then removed. Additionally, the tent had no front door, so it was impossible to keep out unwanted visitors, namely murderers, so players were never safe in this type of house.
With all the drawbacks of the tent design as a house, plus the opportunity for scheming players to pose as an NPC gypsy camp, the tent was removed from the game in 1998. From that time forward, no new tent deeds could be purchased and existing tent deeds could no longer be placed, yielding the message "Tents can no longer be placed in Brittania" when a placement was attempted.
Consequently as a result of their removal, the house deeds for tents, named "deed for a blue tent" or "deed for a red tent," are highly valuable rares due to their age and short time of availability in the game.
