'''Equipment Slots''' refers to the number and type of items that can be equiped on the body of a player character. There are currently 15 equipment slots, which was not always so. Several slots that have significant gameplay value today had little, non-[[Role Playing|Role Play]] value in the past. The ring and braclet slots have been useable equipment slots for a <i>very</i> long time.  However, it was only in 2003, with the release of [[Ultima Online:Age of Shadows|Age of Shadows]] where they really meant something. Hitherto, the only rings and bracelets that meant something were those special, [[Charged Items|charged items]] or EA-sanctioned wedding bands.
