'''Armor Rating'''(''also abbreviated as [[AR]]'') is an antiquated term from Ultima Online's early era. The effectiveness of armor worn(and shield, if held) was once represented by a single number, the Armor Rating. Weapon damage inflicted by an opponent would be modified by the target's AR to produce damage inflicted. This was increased in complexity with the introduction of [[resistances]].

AR was once shown in the Character Status window, but was replaced with the display of resistances.
