There are other entries under the weapon template, are we switching all of those too? The item template obviates the need for an image, at least for weapons. Is that the direction we're heading less need for pic?
- I don't know what is happening with the new weapons template. But Cogenic says it is not finished so I wouldn't use it yet. - JC the Builder 16:26, 18 December 2007 (PST)
- I was just testing some stuff out on Axe. I haven't really decided how the Items template is going to work yet. It could go one of two ways:
- The Items template stays as one giant template that you can pick and choose properties from and is used for every item page.
- A template gets made for each single item property, and then some main templates get made such as Weapons, Armor, Talismans, etcetera, that incorporate varying selections of the individual item properties depending on what kind of properties can actually be found on that type of item. Then you can use the template that corresponds to your type of item and pick and choose properties from it.
- So, in conclusion: no. For now we're not switching everything over. I'm still waiting on a few dev team members for data just to finish the template I have now. For now, keep doing it the way you've been doing it. We'll sort things out once I have everything figured out and all the templates built, however many that turns out to be. --Cogniac 23:19, 18 December 2007 (PST)
- I was just testing some stuff out on Axe. I haven't really decided how the Items template is going to work yet. It could go one of two ways:
- Also: this template (or eventually maybe templates) will not obviate the need for item pics, just possibly item pics with full tooltips displayed in them. People still need to know what art a particular item uses to be able to distinguish, say, an Axe from a Hatchet in game. --Cogniac 23:24, 18 December 2007 (PST)
