Gargoyle's powerful wings carry them over land as fast as a galloping horse and grant them access to special Gargoyle-only areas.

Flying (or Flight) is a racial ability to be seen in the Gargoyle Race as part of the Ultima Online: Stygian Abyss expansion. Initially, at least, it will allow those playing Gargoyles access to areas reachable only by flying in Tel Mur, the homeland of the Gargoyles.

Flying has been described as movement speed equal to being mounted, or the equivalent being double the usual walking pace of Humans and Elves. It has also been indicated that there may be a "warm-up" time, ostensibly the Gargoyle unfurling it's wings or taking off, prior to being able to move at flying speed.
