Besides the "Your spirit lacks cohesion", it is also very annoying that it always has no reaction when I step on the gate, and I have to try tons of time before I can actually get into the gate, how come?

If walking through a gate neither gives you the cohesion method nor teleports you, then odds are your character never actually touched the thing.
This can happen a lot in hilly terrain. Believe it or not all those bumps you see on the map really count for something, and when casting a gate they'll sometimes end up just a little to high (or perhaps low). You try to run through them and nothing happens 'cause they aren't on the same level as you are.
