Seeds are small items that can be used for growing plants via gardening. They weigh one stone each and cannot be stacked. Mostly seeds are gained as loot from certain creatures.
Plain / Colored Seeds
Certain creatures drop Plain, Red, Blue or Yellow seeds. Seeds obtained via combat always produce plants of one of three varieties:
- Fern
- Campion Flowers
- Tribarrel Cactus
Such seeds will be named according to their color (eg "Red Seed"), however if a plant is grown and then bred with itself it will produce descriptive seeds of the same type (eg "Red Tribarrel Cactus Seed").
Breeding different combinations of these seeds together can produce more colors and plant varieties. Any plant that provides seeds can produce a total of eight over it's lifetime.
The initial starting seeds are dropped by:
Mutant Seeds
Any plant that can produce seeds has a chance of producing black or white "mutants" instead of the color they normally would.
Aqua, pink, magenta and fire red seeds can be obtained by completing the Naturalist Quest.
Such seeds are very rare, and the plants they grow cannot be bred (hence they do not produce more seeds).
Bonsai Seeds
Certain creatures in the Tokuno Islands have a chance of dropping special bonsai seeds. There are five varieties:
- Common
- Uncommon
- Rare
- Exotic
- Exceptional
Similar to mutants, bonsais cannot be bred to produce more seeds.
They are dropped by:
- Bake Kitsune
- Deathwatch Beetle
- Fan Dancer
- Rune Beetle
- Yamandon
- Yomotsu Elder
- Yomotsu Priest
- Yomotsu Warrior
- Any others? I'm not sure.
Fragrant Seeds
Fragrants seeds are used to grow the Cocoa Tree, which in turn can not be cross-pollinated.
Fragrant seeds can be found as loot on the following creatures:
- Ant Lion
- Dryad
- Kappa
- Juka Mage
- Hiryu
- Mummy
- Plague Beast
- Serpentine Dragon
- Terathan Warrior
- Titan
- Tsuki Wolf
- Wisp
Peculiar Seeds
Peculiar seeds were added with Publish 55 and can grow 15 new plant varieties, including hedges. These plants cannot be cross-pollinated, and do not produce resources at this time.
Peculiar Seeds produce plants which can be sorted into these groups:
- Group 1: Foxglove, Cactus, Orfluer, Hops (curved to Left)
- Group 2: (Twisted) Cypress Tree, Small Hedge, Juniper Bush, Snowdrops
- Group 3: Spider Tree, Water Lily, Cattails, Poppies
- Group 4: Tall Hedge, (Mossy) Cypress Tree, Hops (curved to Right), Sugar Cane
Peculiar seeds can be found as loot on the following creatures:
- Ant Lion - Drops Seeds from Group 2
- Dryad - Drops Seeds from Group 1
- Kappa - Drops Seeds from Group 4
- Juka Mage - Drops Seeds from Group 4
- Hiryu - Drops Seeds from Group 3
- Mummy - Drops Seeds from Group 2
- Plague Beast - Drops Seeds from Group 4
- Serpentine Dragon - Drops Seeds from Group 2
- Terathan Warrior - Drops Seeds from Group 3
- Titan - Drops Seeds from Group 1
- Tsuki Wolf - Drops Seeds from Group 1
- Wisp - Drops Seeds from Group 3
