The Futon is a decorative Champion Spawn Artifact that comes from Serado the Awakened.
The term "Futon" refers to one of two things. In the United States, it typically refers to a bed that folds into a couch or a couch that folds into a bed (depending upon one's point of view); and in Japan it refers to a portable, folding bed. It is the latter meaning that UO's manufacturers seem to have had in mind with this decorative Artifact.
There appear to be two versions: Pink, and gold.
There are scattered reports of the Futons falling onto the ground rather into a player's pack, and of them getting locked down if they are dropped on the ground in a public area.
How exactly this happens hasn't been discovered yet.
