Revision as of 18:28, 2 June 2010
The Training Guide has been non-existent for 4 months now(March 18, 2008). If someone is going to post something now would be a good time. Otherise *scary music* I will write something to go here, even as a placeholder with basic steps. I'm sure there are lots of people who have turned to this Wiki to try to learn how to work their melee skills but have found nothing over the past 4 months.
- That would be great if you could start the guide. It has actually been missing for a lot longer than 4 months. - JC the Builder 11:40, 18 July 2008 (PDT)
Hiya Tankred. You can place a signature in your postings by putting in four tildes (~~~~).

I found this page via the Archery skill page. A useful resource for archer skill is http://www.uoforums.com/f1138/archery-skill-guide-v1-0-a-45287/.
I'm at 80 skill and training on ogre lords in Desipse. You can run up on the ledge at the end of the bridge and shoot them from there. Around 90 skill I will find a friendly spellweaver and see if i can get an Artic Ogre Lord delivered to somewhere safe. But I've heard rumours that you can't gain melee skill inside a house so maybe trapping it inside is not going to work.

Yes, you need to be guilded. Then, you're going to issue a series of commands to confuse the golem's AI. Say the following:
"All guard me" "All guard me" "All guard me" "All kill" (don't target anything yet) Type "All stop" (don't hit enter) Target yourself (i.e., complete the "all kill" command), then immediately press enter (i.e., issue the "all stop" command) "All follow me" (or "all stay")
After a minute or two, your golem will turn grey and you'll stop damaging it. When this happens, simply say:
"All guard me" "All stop" "All follow me"
Another tip for keeping the golem healed is to run the spellweaving quest. Even an elf with 0 weaving has decent a chance to cast gift of renewal. Gift of renewal will heal your golem, allowing you to train indefinitely (or at least until your weapon needs repaired).
There are a variety of methods for golem training, but this is how I do it. For more info, you can look here: http://www.uoguide.com/Melee_Training_Guide#Method_2
