Steel Skye, once a paladin of virtue, was corrupted by selfishness and greed and, after gradually losing his sanity, became a twisted warrior who craved only blood... eventually literally. At some point in his life he was embraced as a vampire, which only pushed him beyond the limits of his sanity tunil he was eventually killed by the child he raised as his own.
History
Steel Skye was born, like most members of the Skye family, in Nujel'm. His parents were nobles, though the child was determined to grow up to be a great warrior. When Steel was five, however, a small battle struck the northern part of the city, between the Guardians and a small band of the snake-like Ophidians. Both of his parents were lost, and his father's dying breath sent him to the city of Trinsic to live with his uncle, Blake Michael Skye.
Steel spent eleven years under the instruction of his uncle, learning to combine his skill with the sword with his advancingly tactical mind. He met a multitude of people in the small guard that Blake ran. When Steel was sixteen, his uncle was taken by a powerful demon by the name of Kronus.
After his uncle's death, he spent another three years under the teachings of a mage he had met when he first arrived in Trinsic, a sorcerer known as the Dreamer. When Steel was 19 years old, the Dreamer betrayed what was left of the guard in Trinsic, murdering several of Steel's friends right before his eyes. Steel survived, but not unscathed. After learning that the ophidian that murdered his parents was actually the polymorphed Dreamer, blow from the mage's poisoned dagger left a slit along his left eye. A spell of fire left a large pentagram-shaped burn on his back. Steel was kneeling over his lost comrades, knowing he had lost the battle. The Dreamer spared Steel, but not before cursing him. As he walked away, Steel screamed in pain from the acidic tears that were rolling down his face.
A week after the tragedy, Steel randomly happened across his twin brother, whom he had presumed dead soon after birth. The two spent the next several years in the service of the Royal Navy until an epic battle left Steel's fleet shattered and his brother dead. It was immediately after Aika's death when Steel met a woman named Rocelyn for the first time. He happened across several men assaulting the young woman and saved her life; she fell in love with him immediately. The two eventually married, but because of his cursed ancestry he forbade her to bear his child. However, three years later, she became pregnant with his child.
That's when Steel's sanity finally failed: he stabbed her in the stomach, presumably killing both wife and child. Unbeknownst to him, however, the child survived (Dameon Skye II). Steel then disappeared for five years, later revealing that his cursed blood finally gave in to demonic possession, as he spent five years terrorizing Nujel'm, murdering and feeding on human flesh.
He eventually was able to suppress his curse and live a normal life in the Town of Wilmeth for a number of years until the town simply failed to function and the remaining residents took refuge elsewhere; Steel floated around Britannia for a few years.
