Karma is part of the Reputation Title System, the other half being Fame.

Karma is a measure of the "goodness" of a character's actions. This nearly exclusively means killing monsters (though newer characters that have "neutral" Karma can gain Karma through other actions, such as completing escort quests). The "worse" the monster, the higher the Karma granted for killing it. For example, killing balrons or succubi grants more karma than does killing a mongbat or orc.

Certain "good" monsters, such as pixies and cu sidhes, will attack characters with low karma.

Characters with the very lowest karma cannot interact with most NPCs.
