Chaos Shield
The crafting Blacksmiths' seventh selection in the Shield Category is the Chaos Shield. It requires a skill of 85 to create and consumes 25 ingots in the process. The Chaos Shield may hold its maker's mark and retains the color of the material from which it is made. Crafted versions can have their durability increased, via Powder of Fortifying, to a maximum of 255 and dyed with Pigments of Tokuno.

- This shield has a high Strength Requirement.
- Prior to November 2003, Chaos Shields had special functionality. Only members of an Chaos guild could equip such shields. At one point, non-member who attempted to equip an Chaos Shield would suffer damage, and even death, when the shield exploded and disappeared. Prior to Publish 21, Chaos Shields could not be crafted.
