Baekdu was a Korean shard named after the tallest mountain on the Korean peninsula, located in North Korea specifically. It was only one of three shards to use the Siege Ruleset but was closed June 8, 2002 due to very few players using it. Siege Perilous and Mugen both still operate using the Siege Ruleset.

In folklore, Koreans consider Baekdu the place of their ancestral origin and the word means "white-headed mountain" in Korean.
