Talk:Spell Damage Increase
Questions from Original, Answered
Two questions were included in the entry when it was added. They have been included here, as I don't know the answer. Good questions that could enhance the article, though the spell damage formula could use its own page. OK, enough musings!
Regarding Evaluate Intelligence forumula:
does the above for eval = a flat # damage added or is it a % added to base damage?
Regarding the Inscription Bonus:
question is does the 10% add the % from the base damage or the % after all the previous factors are figured in?

Here's some more... does SDI affect Weapon specials at all? Spellweaving? Necro spells? Holy light?

- Max spell damage as of pub 57 is 99 SDI, this includes all of the following: Spell Woven Britches 10, Crystaline Ring 20, any Bracelet with +12, Kasa of the Rajin 12, Midnight Bracers 10, Pendant of the Magi 5, and the War of Shadows Spell Book 30.
- SDI does affect Poison Strike and Wither it does not affect pain spike or Holy Light. I do not know about Word of Death someone else needs to test that but i beleive it does as word of death is similar to poison strike as it is not dependant on a secondary source like the pain spike formula (involves spirit speak) or the holy light formula (involves karma)
- Any additional Spell Damage increase whether it be inscription items or eval all add on to the base. it is not exponential. --Yimmy January & February 2009
Left unconfirmed: SDI impact on weapon hit spells, spellweaving, and word of death. The original questions and Timi's question related to Holy Light and most Necromancy spells were answered. --Ceruleus 16:11, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
Word of Death and Spell Damage Increase
It definitvely works. Tested against 0 resist critters 10 times: with 0 sdi it did 24-38 damage with 55% sdi it jumped up to 38-60.
So, SDI influences WoD damage. --Daedalus 14:27, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
