Honesty
Defined as the quality of being truthful, sincere, or frank, but above all, free from deceit or fraud, in UO, Honesty is:
- one of the virtues of the Virtue System;
- a Moongate to/from Ilshenar; and
- a Shrine.
The Virtue Honesty
The Virtue Honesty is but one of eight virtues found in the Virtue System. It is represented on the Virtue Gump as an open palm. At no time has this component of the Virtue System been active in actual game-play; in fact, the scroll description that is accessed via the gump states, “This virtue is not yet defined.”
That is not to say that the concept of honesty has been neglected. It has been included in several aspects of game play including honesty quests.
The Honesty Moongate
The Honesty Moogate leads to and from the mid-southern edge of Ilshenar (22°40'N 42°15'W). It is close to the following features:
The Honesty Shrine
The Honesty Shrine (93°9'N 156°57'W) is a named ankh that is located on Dagger Isle, which is best known for being the home to the dungeon Deceit. The shrine is not adjacent to a moongate.
- Saying the word Ahm at the Honesty Shrine while wearing the Ankh Pendant will grant the wearer +2 Mana Regeneration for one hour.
- A character can lock his or her karma at the shrine.
- Paladins can tithe there.
- It is also handy for resurrection.
