Back Slot
The Back Slot refers to one of the 19 Equipment Slots on the paperdoll. Items that occupy the Back Slot are quivers and cloaks.
Quivers

Surprisingly, quivers did not exist until the Ultima Online: Mondain's Legacy expansion in 2005. Prior to their introduction, archers simply carried ammunition in their backpack. At one point, the UO development team refered to the inclusion of quivers a mistake. At the time, they argued that they made archers too powerful. Archers were subsequently nerfed, but we got to keep quivers.
Cloaks

Cloaks, however, have been in-game since the very beginning. The Back Slot equipment choice in the early days of the game was quite simple: a cloak or nothing. While the pre-Age of Shadows, charge-based item properties applied to cloaks, other than that they were worn for looks.
