I thought this was supposed to revitalize Yew (remember it was a swamp-land after the LBR quests?) but since there was little participation the developers just revitalized Yew anyway when ML came out. Not 100% sure. Gettingbetter 10:10, 27 August 2008 (PDT)

It was part of the early Solen events. You purified water for one of the Solen Queens. In return, pulled back the overland Solen spawns. On most shards, I'm pretty sure it's only "infiltrators" that spawn overland. Those are Solens from the rival "tribes." (One in Tram, one in Fel.) Obviously, the Black Solen Queens can't stop Red Solen Infiltrators, and the Red Solen Queens can't stop Black Solen Infiltrators, but they CAN, and did, stop their own soldiers. Anyone remember this differently? If you do, feel free to undo the edits to the article I'm about to do. Galen

It was always intended that Yew be turned into a swamp. The only thing you could affect was whether spawn remained or not. Years later player complaints led the developers to just decide that Yew should go back to normal, so it did. Kind of defeated the whole purpose of a world altering scenario. - JC the Builder 11:58, 27 August 2008 (PDT)

There are a few places (in Oceania at least) where you can spawn "standard" Solen outside of their hives. When running over certain spots they pop out, along with giant beetles sometimes (sort of like how the ninja spawns work in the Citadel).

One such spot is near the entrance to Sanctuary, and another is somewhere in the regions near the Trinsic gate. I'm afraid they don't sport much in the way of visible landmarks, so I wasn't able to find them again with a quick run around...

If I do I'll stick the sextant co-ords up somewhere. Truth be told I'd find it handy to mark a rune on one, it'd beat running into the hive each time I wanted to tame a bug.
