Champion vs Peerless Debate

  • You don't need to use any keys to summon her (unlike a peerless)
  • You just kill spawn to make her appear (like a champion spawn)
  • Only ~4,000 hit points (in line with other champions)
  • Two other champion spawns were introduced with Mondain's Legacy, so it wasn't just all Peerless
  • The UOML official website states: Portions of the ancient city are still inhabited by its founders, the minotaur. Meraktus, a powerful tormented minotaur (champion spawn) rules her people from the center of an ornate labyrinth.

I think the evidence supports that this is a Champion Spawn and not a Peerless. - JC the Builder 15:31, 27 October 2008 (PDT)

I've no argument that it isn't a peerless, but I don't think it's a "true" champion either. Well, the current page revision about sums up my opinion. Unlike a champion there is absolutely no point to taking her down (assuming you count the 200k dropped by every other champ to be a "point").

Though I can add another item to your list - If you're a bit slow killing the minotaurs the progress messages will go backwards over time.

Would be interesting to see if a specific title can be earnt for defeating her.

There was no point in defeating the Ilshenar champions when they were first introduced (and still isn't). There is also no point in doing the Sleeping Dragon Spawn either, unless you are after titles. Just because there is no tangible reward does not disqualify Meraktus as a champion. Even the two other "official" champion spawns added with Mondain's Legacy have no reward except a title. - JC the Builder 00:40, 28 October 2008 (PDT)

Serado has an alter, spawn levels, and also passes out the 200k when killed. Never tried the Ilsh spawns.
