Appearance

Shari is 6’3” in height with a sculptured musculature accenting her strength subtly as well as her womanly curves. Her skin is a warm brown, like the outer shell of a hazelnut, and her features are sharp and angular, including her eyes which turn upward. Shari’s eyes are emerald green and sport lustrous black lashes. Her eyes change to amber when she is angry.

Her hair is wavy, a mix of black and crimson, cascading over her and reaching just above her waist. She normally leaves her hair lose and long, but when she wants to look partially enticing, she’ll weave braids decorated with shells or other natural materials among the longer loose strands. Shari is fastidious about her appearance, so bathes often, using herbs and flower essences for body lotions and perfume.

Shari’s fingers give one hint to her true nature, for her nails are set deep in her finger tips and curved at the edges, coming to talon-sharp points. Even as feminine and well-groomed as Shari can be when calm and relaxed, she can be just as wild and ferocious, turning from one aspect of herself to the other unexpectedly. In is at these times her well manicured nails become deadly painful weapons. Her other well hidden natural weapon are her sharp teeth, which only reveal the dangerous side of Shari's beauty when she smiles.

Thick scarring covers her forearms, shoulders, back and legs, a mix of older, thin burns, and newer, more pronounced wounds. Across her abdomen are a separate set of scars, jagged and poorly healed. Shari camouflages her scars when in social environments, such as when she is seeking someone to couple with during her heat phases. When it is time for war, she does noting to cover her scars, for they are reminders of the hate that powered her very core into action, hate that has allowed her to survive her torment and enact her vengeance.

With a voice like honey melting in the sun, Shari can sing with as much sensuality and enticement as she can speak. She uses the gift of her voice along with her graceful war sculpted body to get her way, as upon as she uses her art of battle.

History

In the beginning

One the day of the summer rites of the Moon, when the girls that have received their first bloods are welcomed as women into the Clan community, Shari and the other young girls were taken by a raiding party of slavers, and forced to watched struggling within painful magical manacles as their family were slaughtered or forced to flee.

Shari suffered a decade of enslavement and abuse at the hands of the human merchants, repeated raped and tortured, in an attempt to break her spirit. They curt her children from her womb and killed the infants in front of her, laughing at her misery. In her mind, Shari will always remember the laughter, the cruel sound and the faces of the men ho took all that was precious to her away.

Freedom

After a fast of three days, in which she refused to ingest all food or drink her captors brought her, she was able to cleanse herself of the potion the merchants had used to suppress her link to the Moon and her shifting ability, and broke free. In the bloodbath that followed all the men within the palace and the surrounding courtyard were butchered at her hand, leaving the woman and children alive as a tribute to the beliefs of her people, and as a reminder of the terror she wished the humans to feel at her name.

Since the massacre at the merchant house, Shari has returned to the land of her people, only to find her village burned, her Clan dead. Only she remains, the sole Mchawi’paka, children of the Moon, shifter blessed by the cat spirits of their lands. She is the last of her clan, and the pain of that knowledge fuels her hate, driving her desire for vengeance into slumbering volcano in her belly, threatening to erupt unexpectedly and destroy all in its path.

The Hate Within/Looking to the Future

Nurturing a hatred of human males within her that could be deemed by some as obsessive in intensity, Shari revels in the act of war, or vengeance. Hate is her passion, her fulfillment. She has tasted the blood and flesh of the humans and hungers for it again, though restrains her temptation for fear of ruining her figure with such fatty meal too often.

Taking the documents she’d stolen from the merchant, Shari has traveled to each of the villages noted in the journals, and found the same, homes and communities leveled to the ground, families ripped apart, daughters lost, perhaps forever. Children of the salt seas, the sun, the tempest, even fellow children of the Moon herself, all the Clans have known the pain of loosing their daughters, brothers and fathers, of having their communities torn apart by the greed of man.

Shari carries with her the spirits of the Clans lost at the human's hands, they are her guides through the world, mothers and crones whispering in her ears, shadows of the women they were in life. Shari uses this power to call upon their animals patrons and to guide her hand against their enemies. Though her only battle form is that of the sacred black leopard, she can take the forms of many other animals for use in more clandestine activities. She had become the Keeper of the Vengeful Spirits, Hand of Vengeance for the Tribe of the Forgotten Ones.

Malas

Tracking the other merchant houses connected to the slavery ring, Shari has come to Malas when she hopes to find answers and the flesh of the guilty to feed her hate. In her core, Shari is a cat. Her attachments are fickle, and her loyalties carefully chosen. She rarely is open in her hostility. She will plot and allow grudges to fester within her until she can carry out her vengeance. Here, in Malas, she has found others who see the world as she does, has watched the world of the humans festering with greed and selfish desire, oblivious of the entropic forces eating away from it from the inside.

Shari hopes here in the city of Umbra, home of necromancers and the cast outs of society, she can find the power and knowledge she needs to intact her vengeance. Beyond the rage, there is another deep wish, another driving force, to reclaim that which is precious to her, something stolen during her imprisonment. Here too, she hope she can find the answer she needs to reclaim that, and perhaps even herself along the way.
