BNN: Rats Run Rampant in Minoc

The strangest thing occurred today. I just happened to be in the Minoc Bank late Saturday night when I heard the crier asking for help. I went to see what news she had, and discovered that some poor lady’s home on the northern shore of Minoc was infested with rats. I decided to go check it out for myself, as the crier seemed more interested in other matters than a single home bothered by a few rats. When I arrived at the location described by the crier, I was nearly doubled over by the disgusting vision that leapt before my eyes.
T’was no simple infestation of rats, this! The entire house teemed with the vile little creatures. Not a splinter of the wooden floor could be seen, covered as it was by a fetid river of fur and beady little eyes. And the sound! A cacophony of screeches and scurrying feet, the likes of which I’d never heard before.
Thankfully, a few lads were about, working feverishly with the town guards to push back the tide of shrieking rats - and doing a fine job of it I might add! Just when I thought the last of the tiny little beasts had been sliced or stomped into submission, a group of their humanoid “cousins” leapt into the fray. It appears that Ratmen had brought the flood of vermin to this place, and they did not take kindly to the lads’ treatment of their furry little companions!
With the assistance of the town guards, the group soon had everything well under control, however, returning ownership of the house to the understandably upset woman. It all seemed quick work for the small group, and she was thankful for their assistance – as was I for the story.
