ANNOUNCEMENT: Town Hall Canceled!

If you missed the Herald post about this, here it is again! Due to Hurricane Ike making air travel impossible and ground travel decidedly unwise, we've called off the Austin Town Hall that was to take place this weekend. Please, if you're in the area, stay inside (or evacuate!) and be safe.

"Will we be able to convert human/elf armor to gargoyle armor and vice-versa?"

Currently in development is the Human-to-Gargoyle conversion for weapons and armor (cloth, leather, plate etc). Gargoyle-to-Human conversion is still under discussion.

"Why did my Quiver of Rage change color after the patch?"

There's a bug causing the item to "refresh" some of its properties - including color - each time it loads. We should have this bug fixed in Publish 56 - in the meantime, don't bother dying it!

"Are we supposed to be able to use Disarm against shields now?"

No, actually, this is not intended. It's apparently a very old bug - you've been able to disarm shields for a long time, it seems - but the change to disarming spellbooks made it somewhat more obvious. In any case, we've got the bug logged and on our list now.

"If I get multiple Ankhs of Sacrifice, can I resurrect more than once per hour?"

No - the timer is per-character, not per-ankh.

"What's with Pepta?"

Pepta the Royal Tastetester is a new quest giver in the castle in Britain (or in the Cat's Lair pub just south of the West Britain Bank on Siege.) She wasn't in the patch notes because there is a small cosmetic bug in the quest gump and she wasn't supposed to be in this publish, but she snuck in, so you're more than welcome to see what she has to say!

"Will Siege players ever be able to do the Collector's quest?"

Yes! Actually, as of today Draconi made a few fixes that should allow you to get through the quest - no publish needed! The pearls are available to be fished up, and the NPCs you need to talk to should all be there. (The quest we're referring to is the one Elwood McCarrin offers in New Haven.)

Publish 55 is live, not without some small kinks, but those are mostly worked out. Publish 56 is still being hammered on, but it's looking better and better every day - the event content is almost ready to go!

[Sonoma]

Friday - Sept. 12th - The People's Army of Sonoma [PAS] is running a 2 hour public gauntlet. PAS will have people at Skara Tram bank beginning at 8pm CDT (ending at 8:15pm CDT) to get folks to the doom beach. PAS will party those folks and get them across the gauntlet, gold skulls provided by PAS. Then for the next 2 hours PAS members will guide others thru Gauntlet, healing, curing, ressing them etc. The goal is for the non PAS to get artifacts, and have fun there. If anyone runs late for the event they can icq King David PAS directly at 137449336 and he will make arrangements to bring those folks to the gauntlet. Remember there is a 15 minute window to get the first lifts to gauntlet...and stragglers can icq KD directly to get a lift there.

[Oceania]

PoC Big Fish Oceania Carnival,

14th September, 11am (aest)

Cove Docks.

Everyone on Oceania is invited to the PoC Big Fish Oceania Carnival, a day of fun laughter, food, ale and salt air. A competition for everyone to have a crack at, you don't have to be a fisherman or woman to compete in all of them. So come along bring the kids and enjoy a day on Cove Docks.

The competitions start at 11am, the first one being the BIG FISH CHALLENGE...

Big Fish = 11am til 11:30am (aest)

Who can catch the biggest fish on oceania. The Weigh in station will be open for 30min so bring your big fish along and show it to an official to compare to the other entries and then the BIGGEST FISH will be announced.

BIG FISH PRIZE: - Taxidermy Kit, Fishing Rod Marked Biggest Fish, Paragon Gold Special Fish Net, Toy Boat.

Next up we will have the Scavenger Fish Hunt, competitors will gather on cove docks, they will then be given the supplies for the event, including a fish list and some aquarium fish nets. The first competitor to complete the fish list and show all there fish to the official will win a prize, there are 3 places in this competition.

* More nets will be available from the official should you run out before you collect the fish needed. Fish do not need to be alive when you show them to officials

Scavenger Fish Hunt - 11:40am til it ends

SCAVENGER FISH HUNT PRIZE:-

1st Place Prize - Aquarium, HMS Cape Ship Model.

2nd Place Prize - Fish Bowl and Aquarium Net.

3rd Place Prize - Fish Bowl.

Then last but hardly least we will have a Boat Race from Cove Docks to check points then back to Cove Docks. Check Points will be given out in Co Ordinates so a sextant and boat will be needed for this event.

At each check point sailors will be given a coloured sash and the next co ordinates the winner will be the first back to Cove Docks with all Sash's and coordinates.

BOAT RACE PRIZE :- Admirals Rum, HMS Cape Ship Model, A Large Ship Deed and a bottle of pink champagne to name your ship with.

We hope the day will be alot of fun and look forward to seeing you all there.
