Instructions on Redirection of Misspelled articles to help users.
If you are adding pages to the UOStuff Wikipedia with articles or words that may be misspelled, then read this please! We would not want multiple articles about the SAME TOPIC.
Examples might be:
- Dragons Watch [this is the proper spelling], Dragonswatch, DragonsWatch. The last two cause a new page to be created/edited for Dragons Watch. It's easy to see when you PREVIEW your article because a NEW article will be shown in a RED LINK (non-existent article).
- PaxOku [this is the proper spelling], paxoku, pax oku. The last two cause a new page to be created/edited for PaxOku.
- PaxLair City [this is the proper spelling], paxlair city, pax lair city, etc. etc. There are many possible misspellings.
THEREFORE, search for pages in the UOStuff Search Box at the left frame for all the common misspellings for your article. Then, simply put a single line in that NEW page that is misspelled to have:
#REDIRECT [[pagename]]
In our case, any misspelling pages of Paxoku or Pax oku would be entered into those pages to redirect to the main page for PaxOku using:
#REDIRECT [[PaxOku]]
as the single line in the misspelled page.
