The Staff of Pyros is an artifact reward for participation (i.e., slaying demons) in the Magincia Invasion of 2007. This event was Part I of the larger event arc Warriors of Destiny.
As of Publish 80 the Staff of Pyros now has a 5% chance to summon a firefield on its target when attacking.
