Like many of the other denizens of Dungeon Doom, the Abyssmal Horror is an oddity in both form and demeanor. Skulking about on lanky limbs, it lurks about the second level of the dungeon, waiting for those brave (or foolish) enough to wander into its lair. It's quick to attack any adventurers that it encounters with its brute strength and high-level magic spells. Successful attacks could render its victim unable to heal for a period of time, so stay on your toes when battling this vicious creature. While its skin affords it complete immunity to fire-based attacks and a fair amount of resistance to energy and magic, the strength of steel can penetrate its defenses.

Tactics
Due to their high Evaluating Intelligence, it is hugely important to stay fully healed if one targets you. A Flamestrike can easily do 80+ damage against someone with 70 Fire Resistance. If more than one targets you, run off and hide.
Physical damage is most effective. If a warrior has a weapon that does not do physical, casting Consecrate Weapon is a good idea. Mages can do ~100 damage with every Earthquake. Even better when multiple are within range.
The Abyssmal Horror will also occasionally summon a circle of candles, causing those caught within it to be unable to run. This can be resisted with the Resisting Spells skill.
