Bananas can be acquired from Innkeepers and can be eaten.
They are an ingredient in making a Fruit Bowl with the Cooking skill and also commonly serve as a house decoration item.
The peeled banana 
can be obtained from the Cornucopia and will also work in making a Fruit Bowl
